Taormina Four Seasons Summer
From the past to the present, from fantasy to reality, with summer come the long days, the blue and clear skies, the endless sunlight and starry skies which with their delicious fragrances fill the bridal preparations of this period. Here we can think of one of the most beautiful works of William Shakespeare, A Midsummer Night’s Dream. In 1593, Shakespeare had already written about summer weddings, intertwined love and spells, with everything centred on the wedding between the Duke of Athens, Theseus and Queen of the Amazons, Hippolyta in an unknown and fairytale time, in a pure Athens bordering on a stunning forest. Places that bring to mind Taormina with its Greek theatre and the villa, once owned by Lady Florence Trevelyan.
If you choose to celebrate your wedding during the summer season, it is advisable to announce it at least 6 months in advance to allow guests adequate time for organisation and booking. Bearing in mind that it is a very busy season for celebrations, especially on Saturdays and Sundays, it is better to book all the services at least a year earlier. No doubt the most comfortable time of day to celebrate a summer wedding is in the early evening, otherwise the heat and sun could be a problem for some of your guests.
If you would like a midday lunch, an elegant and appreciated gesture would be to give the guests a fan, and if the ceremony is to take place outside, to offer the ladies straw hats or umbrellas to shelter from the summer heat – perhaps in keeping with the theme of the ceremony.
